Mildred Davis is the talented and respected author of
12 suspense novels, published between 1948 and 1977 (see Bibliography).
Her novella, Suicide Hour, appeared in the January 1954 issue of
Cosmopolitan magazine. Because it was never anthologized, this jewel
of a story has been unavailable to mystery fans since that time.
With the permission of the author, I am honoured to make Suicide
Hour accessible once more.
Read it or download it, and enter into the deliciously sinister world
of a true master of suspense.
And now the exciting news! (Spring 2006) She's back! After nearly
30 years of publishing silence Mildred Davis has released a new mystery,
The Avenging of Nevah Wright, a collaboration with her daughter Katherine Roome.

new mystery, The Fly Man Murders, a strong second entry in the "Murder in Maine"
Series. Check the bibliography and follow the link on the home page.
They've done it again! (Spring 2008) Apparently murder continues unabated
in Maine. Sport Abbott and fellow island-dwellers return in The Butterfly Effect, as Mildred
and Katherine bring you the welcome sequel to The Avenging of Nevah Wright.
